My next single, "Wait", will be available later this month for all to share! It's got a different feel than the other three tracks I put out this year, and I was very lucky to have the talented Stephen Purcell on drums and Ben Defusco on electric guitars from Audio Revival (Check out there new single, Different Light), as well as Larry Cook on bass, Eric Eaton on cello, Eddie Findelsen on violins, and, as always, Dave Clauss with his production, mixing, recording, engineering, instrumentation, and over all awesomeness. This song is about not letting an emotion or feeling get the best of you, and the quintessential "ten count" before acting on them. I've been in that position more times than I can count, cos for me it's much easier to react than think. I signed on with Effective Immediately PR this month, so I can't "wait" <pun intended> to see what we can make happen together this Fall!
THE HALL OF ROCKWOOD!
I'm really looking forward to this month's show at Rockwood Music Hall Stage 1! Not only because I infinitely love that venue, the people who run it, and the people who go to it, but it's also on a Friday at 8pm, which means those of you who work during the week are able to come!!! It means a lot to see familiar faces when I'm performing, and I'm constantly working harder to make each show unique and exciting for new friends and old.
This summer is already flying by, and all the plans I'm planning or have planned are underway! I saw a TedTalk recently about goals and keeping them to yourself; that based on studies, those who talked about their goals were less likely to achieve them, so I've decided not to spill the beans! Instead, when I accomplish them, or when they are inevitably achievable, I will spread the news and talk about what the plans are.
One plan that's already on the horizon is my audition for The Voice next week! I tried out for American Idol years ago, and although I got past the preliminary rounds, I was not accepted, and unfortunately put more into it than I should have. It kind of scarred me for other shows like it, but family, friends, and fans have all consistently encouraged me to try out for The Voice, and I've finally succumbed. Wish me luck!!
Check out this week's #TrailerTuesday video, "Ways", live at Rockwood Music Hall on 6/18/2015!
June Was A Good Month
Dave Clauss and I released my latest single, Gemini, last month, and I couldn't be happier with it! I wrote it for my father, and it coincided really well with Father's Day and his birthday. There's much more new music in route, and as the date approaches, I'll be sure to keep you posted.
#TrailerTuesday is again underway with a live performance at Rockwood Music Hall this past month with my original song "Ways". Be sure to keep posted every week for new music, and if there are any cover songs you'd like me to perform, feel free to reach out!
Spread that love and follow me on twitter and instagram and spread the word to your friends! I appreciate all the support all I can get!
I begin this first newsletter by expressing my gratitude to those who have kept tabs on me throughout my career. Among many lessons I have learned down this road called "life", one of the most important ones is to keep in touch with fans, friends, and family. While music itself is a great tool of communication, there is much more behind the vibrations that I feel is important to share. We all have experiences in day-to-day life that motivate and inspire us. I'd like to share my experiences through this newly created forum, and it's my hope that these newsletters serve as a platform to connect us all, start a conversation, and allow us to learn from one another.
So far, this year has been a roller coaster for me! On the first day of Spring, my beautiful dog of almost a decade passed away, which really put everything in perspective. Before that, I took on a new business venture in Miami that held a lot of promise, but, ultimately, seemed to lead me further away from music. Now, in retrospect, the start of Spring was truly a broadening of understanding for me that made the path to my goals and how to accomplish them more lucid. I've learned so much about myself this past winter, and am using all the lessons of 2015 to push forward on to whatever comes next.
Now I'm back in Brooklyn; back to my home, with this new sense of vigor and work-ethic. My purpose has been re-set and my goals made clearer.
I want to connect with people, more than ever, using the power of music.
That being said, I'll be commencing weekly music videos every Tuesday that I'm fittingly calling #TrailerTuesday(yes, it's incredibly catchy I know :), and I'll be busking the streets of NYC every week, which I'll be discussing and reminiscing about in these newsletters.
So be sure to follow me on twitter and instagram and spread the word to your friends!
